Avfuel in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the Accounting Department. The role focuses on maintaining the general ledger, account reconciliations, monthly closings, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure GAAP compliance.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Accounting, at least 6 years of accounting experience, and prior team lead exposure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software, and strong financial analysis skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Prior team lead experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements.
• Conduct reconciliations of balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
• Perform account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management.
• Research and correct billing, inventory, and tax discrepancies.
• Assist with monthly close and preparation of budgets.

Responsible for general accounting functions including maintaining general ledger and account reconciliations. Will involve assisting with monthly closings, account analysis and resolving account discrepancies through collaboration with internal departments.
