Job summary

Venteon is seeking a Project Accountant to support an established general contracting and finished carpentry company in Oakland County, MI. You will handle project start-ups, budgets, subcontracts, owner billings and monthly job cost reconciliations as part of a dynamic project team.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, 2+ years in project accounting within construction/real estate, proficiency with Yardi and MS Office, familiarity with AIA formats, and strong problem-solving and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of project accounting experience in construction or real estate.
• Proficiency with Yardi software and MS Office.
• Familiarity with AIA billing formats.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with strong computer abilities.

Responsibilities

• Project start-up of each job, including budgets and scopes of work.
• Review and issue sub-contractor contracts, including review of scopes of work.
• Maintain all subcontractor files, including certificates of insurance and qualifications.
• Process owner billings on a regular basis and collect payments.
• Track receipt of waivers and sworn statements from subcontractors.
• Pay subcontractors as payments are received from owners and all required information is received from subs.
• Review and process change orders with Project Managers and Engineers.
• Update the budget and reallocating expenses as needed and communicate with the Project team.
• Reconcile job costs monthly to support accurate tracking of P&L.
• Support payroll processes including tax payments and deposits to retirement and medical accounts.
• Continue to expand knowledge, skills, and cross training for company growth.
• Uphold Integrity and Code of Ethics across the team.
• All Other Duties as Assigned.
