Construction Material Testing seeks a 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners, capture site data, and process scans into meshes and CAD-ready formats. You will work on diverse projects from rebar and embeds to corroded pipes, with on-site verification and data delivery to clients.

You will train in capture procedures, drift control, and reporting templates, with opportunities to advance toward regional roles or project management as the line grows.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a handheld scanner (Artec Leo, Eva, Space Spider, or equivalent) on real projects.
• Familiarity with Artec Studio or similar scan-processing software (mesh cleanup, registration, export).
• Familiarity with CAD and ability to read structural or fabrication drawings.
• Comfortable on active construction sites and in industrial plants; able to carry equipment, climb, and work outdoors.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record; able to travel with equipment.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of sites before concrete placement and for various structures.
• Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlap management.
• Verify capture completeness on site before departure.
• Process scans in Artec Studio and export to STL/OBJ/E57 and CAD formats.
• Produce deviation maps, measurement reports, and anchor bolt coordinates against drawings.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids for reverse engineering or hand clean meshes for modelling.
• Document capture procedures and chain of custody for forensic matters.
• Coordinate access, permits, safety with superintendents and plant contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
