Job summary

ACCEL Schools LLC is seeking an Intervention Specialist to support an online K-12 program with in-person testing requirements several times per year. You will work with teachers to interpret student needs, conduct assessments, and develop plans that boost achievement and behavior.

The role emphasizes collaboration with families, adherence to state standards, and a commitment to culturally responsive practices in a virtual school setting with occasional in-person events.

Qualifications

• Must hold Current Ohio Intervention Specialist License.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in full room inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model.
• Comfort with a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations and action planning.
• High-quality written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook).
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret abilities and disabilities of students, assist in intervention strategies and modify general education curricula as needed.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals and objectives.
• Regularly communicate with families regarding student academic and social-emotional growth.
• Plan and participate in non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
