Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist at Cleveland College Preparatory School in Cleveland, OH. The role focuses on supporting students with IEPs in a structured, inclusive setting and advancing social-emotional development within a nurturing classroom environment.

You will collaborate with teachers, conduct assessments, facilitate IEP meetings, and implement behavior plans while communicating progress to families and adapting instruction to diverse learner needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in full room inclusion or co-teaching in a Resource Room model.
• Growth-focused coaching with frequent observations and progress monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks (FBI/BCI).
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers to interpret abilities and modify instruction.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals and objectives.
• Meet goals related to student achievement and culture and state targets.
• Use research-based practices in planning and instruction.
• Apply culturally responsive teaching in daily lessons and interactions with families.
