Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools seeks a Special Program Paraeducator 2 for the Integrated Communication & Sensory Program. This one-on-one role is 6.5 hours per day, 9 months per year, with non-exempt status.

The position requires supporting students with disabilities under supervision of certified staff, and participation in required trainings. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with acceptable transcripts or ParaPro assessment, plus preferred experience in educational settings

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, plus official transcripts or ParaPro result as applicable
• One year of related experience working with children preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities; able to work with diverse student needs

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in implementing goals and IEPs
• Monitor student behavior and provide support as directed
• Assist with data collection and preparing instructional materials
• Ensure safety and wellbeing of students during school activities
