Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools in Washington seeks a Special Program Paraeducator 2 for the Integrated Communication & Sensory Program. This one-on-one role supports students with disabilities, 6.5 hours per day, nine months per year, non-exempt.

You will work closely with teachers, implement IEP goals, monitor progress, and help with behavioral supports while maintaining data records and collaborating with the school team.

Qualifications

• Documentation verifying a high school diploma or GED.
• Official transcripts to confirm education or ParaPro assessment results.
• One year of related experience in an educational setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage student behavior and assist in classroom activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in implementing and evaluating goals and objectives on individual student IEPs.
• Monitor and collect data on student progress as directed by the teacher.
• Provide instructional support in small groups or individually.
• Observe student behavior and ensure safety, reporting observations to appropriate staff.
• Attend training meetings to broaden expertise in working with students with special needs.
