Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools District Wide is seeking a Substitute Special Education Paraeducator to support students across multiple programs (ISEP, ICSP, IAC, Transition Skills) in a self-contained and general education setting. The role requires collaboration with teachers and district staff to foster safety, learning, and growth for students with diverse needs.

The position involves assisting with personalized education plans, behavior support, and classroom duties, including preparing materials

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; minimum age 18.
• Experience working with children in educational settings preferred.
• Ability to work as part of an educational team and support teachers.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated staff in implementing IEP goals and classroom objectives.
• De-escalate behavioral crises and implement behavior management plans as directed.
• Support students in integrated programs (ISEP, ICSP, IAC, transition skills).
• Prepare teaching materials and assist with data entry and record-keeping.
• Observe students and communicate observations to appropriate staff.
• Assist with transportation and daily activities as assigned.
