Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools in Vancouver, WA seeks a Special Program Paraeducator 2 for the Integrated Social Emotional Program (ISEP). This is a one-on-one position to support a student during the school day.

The role is 6.5 hours per day, 9 months per year and is non-exempt. You will work under the supervision of certified staff, assisting with instruction, behavior support, data collection, and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree or 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits or equivalent.
• ParaPro Assessment result of 461+.
• One year of related educational experience preferred.
• Team experience preferred.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in implementing goals and objectives for individual students.
• Provide instructional support in small groups or one-on-one.
• Data collection and record keeping for student progress.
• De-escalate students exhibiting emotional/behavioral crises.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Attend training and collaborate with staff.
