Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools is seeking a Special Program Paraeducator 2 for the ISEP one-to-one position at Lincoln Elementary in Vancouver, WA. The role runs 6.5 hours daily for 9 months, and requires supporting a student with moderate to severe disabilities under teacher direction.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, plus an Associate’s degree/Credits or ParaPro score, and relevant experience or teamwork skills. Training in CPI/de-escalation is required.

Qualifications

• Documentation proving high school diploma or GED and one of the following: associate degree credits or ParaPro score.
• One year of related experience with children in an educational setting preferred.
• Experience on an educational team with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the teacher and implement goals from individual IEPs.
• De-escalate student behavior and assist with crisis management.
• Prepare teaching materials and maintain data records.
• Assist with small group or individual student activities as directed.
• Attend team meetings and provide observational input.
