Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools is seeking a Special Program Paraeducator 2 to support an Integrated Social Emotional Program (ISEP) on a one-on-one basis. The position is 6.5 hours per day for 9 months and is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Responsibilities include assisting teachers with IEP goals, de-escalation techniques, data collection, and materials preparation while promoting a safe, inclusive learning environment for students with disabilities. Weekend training may be required.

Qualifications

• Documentation verifying high school diploma or GED.
• Official transcripts or ParaPro results as required.
• Experience in educational setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to learn and use classroom technologies.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in implementing and evaluating goals on IEPs.
• De-escalate emotional/behavioral crises with instruction.
• Prepare materials and maintain data collection records.
• Grade papers and provide instructional support in small groups.
• Observe and report student behavior and progress.
• Attend training and participate in team meetings as needed.
• Support safety and positive behavior in classroom settings.
