Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools is hiring a Special Program Paraeducator 2 for the Integrated Social Emotional Program (ISEP) at Truman Elementary in Vancouver, WA. This one-on-one position runs 6.5 hours per day for 9 months per year, with non-exempt status and starting immediately.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, and preferred experience with students who have disabilities. Training in CPI/de-escalation and weekend sessions may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; strong educational support background preferred.
• One year of related experience in educational settings is preferred.
• Ability to learn and implement district instructional programs and behavior supports.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in implementing IEP goals and classroom activities.
• Support one-on-one with students in social-emotional and academic tasks.
• Maintain data collection records and assist with lesson materials.
• Communicate observations to certificated staff and participate in team meetings.
• Attend mandatory trainings including CPI/de-escalation and weekend sessions.
