Vancouver Public Schools Truman Elementary in Vancouver, WA seeks a Special Program Paraeducator II for the Integrated Social Emotional Program (ISEP). The role is 6.5 hours per day, nine months per year, non-exempt and involves supporting students with diverse needs under teacher supervision.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, plus Associate’s Degree or 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits or ETS ParaPro 461+.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s Degree or 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits or ETS ParaPro Assessment result of 461+.
• One year of related experience in an educational setting preferred.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Responsabilidades

• Assist the teacher in implementing and evaluating goals and objectives on individual student IEPs.
• Provide instructional and behavioral support to students in small groups or one-on-one.
• Prepare teaching materials and maintain data collection records.
• Observe and document student behavior and communicate with other service providers.
• De-escalate students in emotional/behavioral crises and follow behavior management plans.

Educación

ETS ParaPro Assessment 461+

Experience working with children in educational settings

Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

Conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities
