Job summary

Saint Mary's Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England, is seeking an Oncology Scheduler to coordinate and schedule appointments for oncology services at the Chase Highway Waterbury location. You will greet patients, assist with referrals, and ensure accurate scheduling and insurance data while supporting clinicians.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, effective communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital environment with day shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• College coursework in secretarial or medical sciences preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in a physician's office.
• Familiarity with medical terminology required.
• Bilingual abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, answer phones, schedule patients.
• Assist clinicians with pre-certifications/referrals, faxes and chart preparation.
• Ensure the provider's schedules are timely and accurate.
• Obtain accurate, timely registration and insurance information.
• Provide clerical support to physicians, clinicians, mid-level providers and staff.
