Job summary

Texas Oncology at Methodist Dallas Cancer Center is seeking a Scheduler to join our team. This full-time role supports scheduling patient appointments and tests, answers incoming calls, and liaises between patients and medical staff.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule, 8:30am–5pm, with no weekends or holidays. Levels 2 or Sr are based on experience, with duties including pre-certifications, insurance authorizations, and referrals coordination.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three years office experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.

Responsibilities

• Answers all incoming calls; assess callers' needs and direct to appropriate personnel.
• Schedules new patients, referrals, and returning patients in system per physician/office guidelines.
• Obtains and enters all insurance authorizations and referrals in EMR.
• Collects co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket amounts at time of visit.
• Maintains scheduling template including physician meetings, satellite schedule, and call coverage.
• Arranges for patients to have financial counseling as needed.
• Protects patient confidentiality and adheres to policies and procedures.
