Job summary

The US Oncology Network is seeking a Scheduler to join Texas Oncology in Arlington, Dallas and Irving. This full-time, M-F 8:30am–5pm position offers no weekends or holidays and can be configured at Level 2 or Sr based on experience.

The schedulers coordinate patient appointments and tests, liaise with medical staff, and support front-office operations. Responsibilities include handling calls, scheduling, insurance authorizations, collecting payments, and maintaining scheduling templates while

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum three years office experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is required.

Responsibilities

• Answers all incoming calls; assesses callers’ needs and directs to appropriate personnel.
• Schedules new patients, patient referrals and returning patients in computer system according to physician/office guidelines.
• Obtains and enters all insurance authorization and referrals in EMR.
• Collects co-pays, deductible and other out-of-pocket amounts at time of visit.
• Maintains scheduling templates including physician meetings, satellite schedule, rounding and call coverage.
• Arranges for patients to have financial counseling as needed.
• Protects patient confidentiality and adheres to the Compliance Program.
