Job summary

The US Oncology Network in Texas is seeking a Scheduler to join Texas Oncology with locations in Arlington, Dallas and Irving. This full-time position runs Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, with no weekends or holidays, and supports scheduling of patient appointments and tests.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of medical office experience, strong communication, knowledge of medical terminology, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three years office experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, scheduling, and/or authorization experience preferred.
• Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.
• Level 2: three years of office experience; Level Sr: five years of office experience and knowledge of coding.

Responsibilities

• Answers all incoming calls; directs to appropriate personnel.
• Schedules new and returning patients in the system per physician/office guidelines.
• Obtains and enters insurance authorization and referrals.
• Collects co-pays and other payments at time of visit.
• Maintains primary scheduling template including physician meetings and satellite schedule.
• Arranges for financial counseling as needed.
• Protects patient confidentiality and adheres to policies.
• Prepares correspondence and forms as requested.
