Job summary

Texas Oncology in Dallas is seeking a Scheduler to join the Medical Oncology team. This full-time role supports appointment and test scheduling, answers calls, and serves as a liaison between patients and clinical staff.

The position involves occasional float across DFWW region locations and requires reliable transportation. You will work under supervision to maintain accurate schedules, coordinate with insurance and pre-visit steps, and protect patient confidentiality while delivering timely,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-3 years’ experience preferably in a medical office setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required

Responsibilities

• Answers all incoming calls; assesses callers’ needs and directs to appropriate personnel.
• Schedules new patients, patient referrals and returning patients per physician guidelines.
• Obtains and enters all insurance authorization, referrals in EMR.
• Collects co-pays, deductible and other out-of-pocket amounts at visit.
• Maintains primary scheduling template containing physician meetings and satellite schedule.
• Arranges for patients to have financial counseling as needed.
• Demonstrates patient confidentiality and follows front office policies.
