Job summary

Talent With Heart is seeking a Phlebotomist (Code 6145) in San Antonio, TX for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. The role requires 1-2 years of oncology diagnostic phlebotomy experience and involves blood draws, specimen labeling, and specimen handling.

Responsibilities include performing venipunctures, documenting maintenance data, and ensuring accurate labeling and transport of specimens in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens, centrifuging specimens and recording maintenance data.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures and ensure proper labeling.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly to patients and demonstrate proper technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Ensure specimens are packaged for transport, stored at required temperatures and transported per protocol.
