The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of oncology phlebotomy experience, a state phlebotomy certification, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. This contract role runs 3 months with potential for permanent placement.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrates technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and labels accordingly.
• Packages specimens for transport and stores samples per required temperature.
