Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a Pharmacy/Admixture Technician to support the IDS department at the Dallas Sammons location. This role involves compounding, admixing, and ensuring accurate medication preparation while complying with safety and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have IV skills and pharmacy experience, with opportunities for level 1–Sr based on experience. No weekends or major holidays are required for this position.

Qualifications

• IV skills and oncology background are preferred.
• Pharmacy technician experience is beneficial.
• IV certification is preferred by the employer.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing under supervision.
• Check all orders for completeness and verify patient information and physician authorization.
• Admix drugs as ordered by a physician in an accurate and timely manner, adhering to guidelines.
• Calculate correct dosage volumes and conversions between metric and apothecary.
• Assist in controlled substance record keeping and follow state/federal regulations.
• Dispose of materials used in mixing chemotherapy or non-chemo IVs according to guidelines.
• Maintain temperature logs and conduct quality assurance activities.
