Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Entry-level to several years in a pharmacy environment and familiarity with IV admixture.
• IV skills and oncology background preferred; IV certification is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under supervision.
• Check orders for completeness, verify patient information and physician authorization.
• Admix drugs as ordered, adhering to guidelines and safety standards.
• Calculate correct dosage volumes and unit conversions.
• Assist in controlled substance record keeping per guidelines and regulations.
• Dispose of materials from chemo/non-chemo IVs according to guidelines and law.
• Maintain temperature logs and QA documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Manage inventory with proper documentation of quantities, lot numbers and expirations.
• Support label preparation, data entry, pre-billing review, and ordering medications and supplies as directed.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the admixture area and pharmacy environment.
