Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a Certified IV Admixture Technician to join the Willowbrook location in Houston, TX. This full-time role operates Monday to Friday, 8:00a-4:30p or 8:30a-5:00p, with no weekends or major holidays.

Under physician supervision, you will prep medications, maintain records, and support inventory control in a busy clinic admixture room. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of pharmacy IV experience, oncology exposure, and an ASHP-accredited program or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years experience in a pharmacy with I.V. skills.
• Oncology background preferred or extensive I.V. preparation experience.
• ASHP accredited program completion recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under supervision of a physician.
• Check all orders for completeness of information; verify patient information and physician authorization.
• Under direct supervision, admixes drugs as ordered by physician per guidelines; prepares drugs within OSHA/interoffice guidelines.
• Calculate correct dosage volumes and convert units as needed.
• Maintain inventory records, count controlled drugs, and dispose of materials correctly after mixing.
• Keep temperature logs and protocol drug logs; ensure proper documentation of medications.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

ASHP accredited program or community college based program

Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board requirement
