Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Service Representative for Oncology to greet patients, check in/out, complete registrations, collect payments, and support front desk operations in a busy oncology setting. The full-time role follows Monday–Friday, 7:00am–5:30pm, with emphasis on accurate data entry, courteous service, and timely communication about appointment status.

Requires high school diploma or GED and 0–2 years in customer service; healthcare experience and medical terminology

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
0 to 2 years experience in a customer service position.

Responsibilities

Greets patients and guests upon arrival, confirms identity and provides information about their visit.
Completes check-in/out functions as directed.
Updates patient identification, demographics and insurance information.
Completes patient registrations as needed.
Collects co-payments, past due balances and point of service payments.
Posts payments, processes billing information and performs end-of-day cash drawer closing.
Keeps waiting area clean and comfortable.
Informs patients of delays or changes in appointment status.
Schedules appointments as necessary.
For PSRs in the ICC, floats to other ICCs/departments.
May perform other duties as assigned.
