Job summary

Compass Oncology in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. This full-time role focuses on scheduling a variety of patient appointments—office visits, labs, chemotherapy—and coordinating referrals, while delivering compassionate service in a fast-paced cancer care setting.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, 2+ years of office experience (medical setting preferred), strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• At least two years of office experience, preferably in a medical setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology highly desired.
• Ability to interpret provider orders and apply critical thinking.
• Excellent organizational skills and prioritization ability.
• Strong written and verbal communication; professional demeanor.
• Calm, compassionate demeanor in a high-volume practice.
• Comfort interacting with patients and families under stress.
• Proficiency with MS Office: Outlook and Word.

Responsibilities

• Protect patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Schedule patient medical appointments including visits, labs, chemotherapy, and other visits as ordered.
• Coordinate external referrals as ordered by the provider.
• Obtain and maintain accurate patient demographics and insurance information.
• Respond to routine and non-routine patient inquiries promptly.
• Answer calls, assess needs, direct to appropriate personnel, and use the patient portal.
• Develop positive, collaborative relationships across departments.
• Attend weekly team huddles to discuss patient cases and coordinate care.
• Participate in staff meetings and cross-departmental projects as needed.
• Act as a training and onboarding resource for clinic staff.
• Demonstrate reliability and punctuality to support team operations.
