Job summary

Compass Oncology in Oregon is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to join a high-impact team. The role involves scheduling a variety of patient appointments, coordinating referrals, and serving as a liaison between patients and medical staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
• At least two (2) years office experience, preferably in a medical setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology highly desired.
• Must possess the ability to apply critical thinking in reading, interpreting, and executing provider orders.
• Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to adjust priorities based on patient or clinic needs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to articulate information.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/practice.
• Schedules patient medical appointments including office visits, lab, chemotherapy, and other appointments as ordered by Provider.
• Assist patient in coordinating external referrals as ordered by the provider.
• Obtains and maintains accurate patient demographics and insurance information and communicates changes appropriately.
• Responds to routine patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner; seeks assistance for complex issues.
• Answers inbound calls and directs to appropriate personnel; uses patient portal for messages.
