Job summary

Compass Oncology in Tigard, Oregon seeks a dedicated Patient Care Coordinator to join our oncology team. You will schedule diverse patient appointments, coordinate referrals, and serve as a liaison between patients and medical staff within a high-volume practice.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in an office setting, knowledge of medical terminology, and strong organizational and communication skills; familiarity with medical software is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• At least two years of office experience, preferably in a medical setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology highly desired.
• Ability to apply critical thinking to reading, interpreting, and executing provider orders.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments: office visits, labs, chemotherapy, and other related appointments.
• Coordinate external referrals as ordered by the provider.
• Collect and update patient demographics and insurance information; communicate changes.
• Respond to routine and non-routine patient inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Answer incoming calls and direct to appropriate personnel; utilize patient portal for messages.
