Job summary

Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert, AZ seeks a Patient Care Assistant on the Oncology unit. The role includes routine patient care, data collection, and support for the nursing team on a 6:30am–7:00pm daytime schedule, three days a week.

Emphasis on oncology care, chemotherapy and supportive services, with Magnet-certified environment. The position offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus for licensed CNAs or LNAs, plus 18% night shift differential and $1/hour weekend differential when applicable,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CNA certification preferred.
• Current CNA/LNA certification and BLS required for staff hires.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; detail oriented.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and promote patient comfort.
• Record vital signs, input/output, and other data per policy.
• Communicate patient status changes to licensed professionals clearly.
• Support unit routines and equipment preparation for procedures.
• Perform receptionist/clerical tasks to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain complete and accurate patient records and charting.
• Monitor supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
• Transport patients as required and support OR turnover.
• Work under supervision in a fast-paced, customer-service focused environment.
