Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant for the Oncology Unit at Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert, AZ. The role involves providing routine patient care on a 24-bed oncology unit, supporting treatment and symptom management, with a day shift from 6:30am to 7:00pm, three days per week.

You will work within a Magnet-recognized environment affiliated with MD Anderson Cancer Center, delivering high-quality care and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Current CNA certification in practicing state required for new hires.
• Requires 1 year medical clerical or hospital/clinical experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; basic computer skills.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living to promote patient comfort and mobility.
• Record vital signs and input/output data and document in medical records.
• Communicate patient status and changes to nursing staff for continuity of care.
• Assist with procedures and operate or support equipment under supervision.
• Support unit operations with receptionist/clerical duties and charting.
• Maintain patient records, supplies, and equipment inventory.
• Assist with patient transport and unit turnover as needed.
• Contribute to a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
