Job summary

Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert, Arizona, is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Oncology Unit on the night shift. This 24-bed unit specializes in cancer care, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation, with a 12:1 patient ratio and affiliation with MD Anderson Cancer Center.

The role covers routine patient care, data collection, and unit support, with self-scheduling, an 18% night differential, and additional weekend differential when applicable, in a Magnet-recognized

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required; BLS certification is required.
• CNA in state of practice required for new hires; 1 year medical clerical or hospital experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care to promote comfort and assist with daily living.
• Document patient data and maintain medical records; input data into EMR.
• Collect specimens and vital signs; communicate status to caregivers.
• Assist with transporting patients and support unit operations.
• Transcribe and process physician orders in the EMR; maintain supplies.
