Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Medical/Surgical Oncology Patient Care Assistant to join the Phoenix campus. The role supports daily living activities, data collection, and coordination of patient care on a 30-bed Oncology unit with skilled nursing support.

Responsibilities include assisting with basic hygiene, monitoring vital signs, and communicating patient status to the care team. Night/day shifts available with self-scheduling and shift differentials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Current CNA certificate in state of practice required for new hires.
• Demonstrated organizational and communication skills; basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living to promote patient comfort.
• Document vital signs and data in medical records; support unit workflow.
• Report abnormalities to licensed professionals and maintain continuity of care.
• Assist with procedures and supplies under supervision of licensed staff.
• Perform receptionist/clerical duties to support department operations.
• Maintain patient records and ensure proper charting and filing.
