Job summary

Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Part-time CNA (PCA) to work two 12-hour night shifts per week, 6:30pm–7:00am, with rotating weekends/holidays. The role includes assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, and patient record administration in a busy oncology ICU/Stem Cell unit affiliated with MD Anderson.

The ideal candidate holds a CNA in state practice, current BLS, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Current CNA in state of practice required for new hires and transfers (Arizona).
• In Tucson, CNA requirement applies to new hires; existing Tucson incumbents may not transfer without meeting CNA requirement.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and basic hygiene.
• Record vital signs, input/output, and other measurements.
• Report changes in patient health to licensed staff promptly.
• Perform procedures and use equipment as delegated by licensed professionals.
• Handle receptionist/clerical duties to support department operations.
• Maintain patient records, chart forms, and supply inventories.
• Assist with patient transport and room turnover.
• Support imaging, progression of care, and unit workflow.
• Work under supervision and maintain a fast-paced, customer-service focused environment.
