Compass Oncology’s Vancouver Cancer Center is seeking a New Patient Coordinator to serve as the medical liaison between our practice, hospital, support services, and payors. The role ensures a smooth cancer care journey for new patients, coordinating referrals and appointments, and helping with insurance and financial needs.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in medical office settings, strong communication, and proficiency with billing systems.

Qualificações

• At least four years of directly related experience in medical office, coding or billing, patient advocate, or social services.
• Must demonstrate the ability to verbally articulate information and questions with others to perform responsibilities effectively.
• Must be personable and able to work with patients and teams.

Responsabilidades

• Before a patient’s first appointment, collects basic chart information (diagnosis, physician, personal data, insurance).
• Coordinates physician referrals and oncology-related appointments, and resolves insurance billing and coding issues.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and provides patient education on benefits and co-pays.
• Provides educational materials to patient and family and assists with navigation to community resources.
