Job summary

Trinity Health in Des Moines is seeking a Clinical Medical Assistant to deliver patient care, prepare patients for procedures, collect vital signs, and document findings under provider supervision.

The role requires completion of a CAAHP/ABHES-accredited program and certification within one year (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CMA, CCMA, NRCMA, NPCE MA). BLS within 3 months and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must complete a medical assistant program accredited by CAAHP or ABHES.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through patient preparation, vital sign collection, and documentation.
• Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations under provider direction.
• Prepare and organize patient charts and ensure documentation is complete.
• Coordinate scheduling of procedures, labs, x-rays, and surgeries.
• Educate patients and families based on discharge plans and assessed needs.
• Promote evidence-based resources to optimize nursing practice and patient care.
• Assist in training new colleagues and cross-coverage as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to policies and procedures.
