Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for the Day Shift in Iowa. The role focuses on delivering patient care, maintaining the electronic medical record, and supporting the health care team in a clinic setting.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, rooming patients, assisting with procedures (EKG, spirometry, tympanometry), and documenting interactions accurately. CMA or RMA certification is required within the first year; BLS and Mandatory Reporter training must be completed

Qualifications

• Completed a CMA/RMA certification within 1 year of employment.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) within first year.
• CPR/BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training completed within 3 months of hire.
• Clinic/physician office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recognize urgent/emergent needs and initiate appropriate emergency procedures.
• Follows clinic procedures for EMR management (test results, filing, charging).
• Facilitate interdisciplinary communication within the health care team.
• Assess learning needs and provide accurate information to patients and families.
• Document all patient interactions in EMR accurately.
• Assist with procedures and operation of diagnostic equipment (EKG, spirometry, tympanometry).
• Maintain aseptic technique and prepare medications as directed.
• Perform basic MA duties (vitals, rooming, injections) under supervision.
• Maintain cleanliness and supplies in exam rooms.
