Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle seeks a new graduate Infusion RN resident to deliver chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive care under expert supervision. You will train with a preceptor, rotate through oncology infusion duties, and learn to assess patients, administer treatments, and monitor responses.

This residency emphasizes patient education, teamwork with the interdisciplinary staff, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• WA RN license or WA-Resident multistate license (MSL) with plan to upgrade within 60 days.
• BLS certification required; oncology training provided if needed.
• Oncology chemotherapy provider card within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs and evaluate health changes.
• Develop a care plan based on disease, symptoms and response to treatment.
• Educate patients and families on disease processes and treatment side effects.
• Coordinate with inter-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Administer chemotherapy/biotherapy and blood products as ordered.
• Provide education and support to patients and caregivers throughout care.
