Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA is seeking a new graduate Infusion RN for a residency program focused on oncology, immunotherapy, and bone marrow transplant patient care. You will work with a preceptor to develop safe and accurate care, including assessment, treatment administration, and patient education.

The role emphasizes hands-on nursing care, coordination with the care team, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State Registered Nurse Multistate License (MSL) or MSL from another state with plan to WA MSL within 60 days of hire
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; two years RN oncology experience preferred
• Oncology certification may be required within 3 months of hire
• Two years of RN oncology experience preferred
• OnsChemotherapy Provider Card preferred within 3 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Assess physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of patients and evaluate adaptation to health changes
• Develop and implement a plan of care based on disease, symptoms, and treatment response
• Educate patients and families about disease processes, treatment, side effects and symptom management
• Coordinate with inter-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, blood products and IV hydration as prescribed
• Demonstrate knowledge of standard treatment and manage drug side effects
• Ensure safe handling of hazardous drugs and proper disposal procedures
• Provide patient and family education and assess learning needs
• Communicate patient symptoms to providers and collaborate with the care team
• Participate in continuing education and quality improvement initiatives
