Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a new graduate RN for an infusion residency focused on oncology, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy. You will work with a preceptor to develop core nursing competencies in oncology care and patient education.

The role emphasizes safe chemotherapy administration, patient education, and collaboration with the care team. A WA RN license and BLS are required, with oncology training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Current WA State Registered Nurse license (MSL acceptable).
• Oncology nursing experience preferred but training provided.
• BLS certification required; renewal every two years.
• Chemotherapy/biotherapy provider card within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
• Develop and update a plan of care based on disease and response to treatment.
• Educate patients and families on disease, treatments, and side effects.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team for continuity.
• Refer to social work, nutrition, and other resources as needed.
• Implement and adjust plans of care; integrate research into practice.
• Demonstrate safe handling of chemotherapy and hazardous drugs.
