Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle seeks a new-graduate nurse for an Infusion RN residency focused on oncology, immunotherapy, and bone marrow transplant care. You will train under preceptors and contribute to high-quality patient care through assessment, treatment administration and patient education.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Current Washington State RN license or valid multistate license with upgrade to MSL within 60 days
• Oncology experience or will receive additional training
• Current BLS certification renewed every two years
• ONS Chemotherapy Provider Card within 3 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs and evaluate adaptation to health changes
• Develop a plan of care based on disease, symptoms, and response to treatment
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on disease processes, treatment, side effects and symptom management
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
• Refer patients, families and caregivers to other clinical resources as appropriate
• Implement, evaluate and modify plan of care
• Integrate research and evidence-based knowledge into clinical practice
• Administer chemotherapy, IV hydration, biotherapy and blood products
