Job summary

American Oncology Network, Inc. is seeking a Patient Financial Counselor to advocate for patients’ financial navigation in our oncology practice.

You will review insurance coverage, estimate patient responsibility, coordinate prior authorizations, and assist with financial aid applications to reduce barriers to care. You will work closely with clinical teams, payors, and external aid programs to ensure accurate billing, timely authorizations, and compassionate support throughout the cancer

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s Degree or higher in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred.
• Minimum two years in healthcare financial counseling, patient access, or medical billing.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage and coordinate pre-certifications and prior authorizations.
• Explain benefits and patient financial responsibility; assist with forms and applications.
• Collaborate with providers, insurance companies, and external aid organizations to secure funding.
