Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1–2 years in a medical setting or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of customer service in a high-volume, high-stress environment.
• Experience with hospital/medical office collections or financial counseling is a plus.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive financial evaluations for oncology patients referred by care team members.
• Assess insurance coverage, financial hardship, and barriers to treatment adherence.
• Educate patients/families on insurance benefits, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket costs.
• Provide individualized financial counseling to help patients make informed treatment decisions.
• Review and explain medical bills, insurance statements, and EOBs.
• Assist with payment plans and identifying financial resources.
