Job summary

Navista, part of Cardinal Health, seeks a Coordinator of Financial Counseling to support patients and providers with financial clearance and education before services. The role improves reimbursement outcomes and reduces financial risk while enhancing patient experience through clear financial communication.

The position requires strong knowledge of insurance, billing, and oncology pathways, with experience in revenue cycle and multiple clinical/administrative systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years in a healthcare business office or revenue cycle.
• Strong knowledge of insurance, benefits, and patient financial assistance programs.
• Understanding of oncology treatment pathways.
• Experience with billing systems and interpreting EOBs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to navigate multiple systems (EMR, Registration/PMS, VOB, Auth, financial clearance).
• Experience in oncology or specialty care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Financial Counseling & Patient Support: Educate patients on financial responsibility and costs prior to services.
• Assist in identifying financial obligations and communicating payment expectations prior to treatment.
• Financial Risk Identification: Evaluate risks related to scheduled services and identify high-risk accounts for review.
• Denials Prevention & Support: Collaborate with teams to reduce claim denials and support pre-service financial issues.
