Job summary

Heartland Oncology & Hematology is seeking a dedicated Financial Navigator to serve as the primary patient advocate for financial navigation and counseling within an oncology practice. The role analyzes insurance coverage, estimates patient responsibility, and coordinates prior authorizations to ensure access to cancer treatment.

You will partner with clinical teams and external organizations to remove financial barriers, assist with applications for aid, and support compassionate patient care

Qualifications

• Two years in healthcare financial counseling, patient access, or medical billing preferred.
• Experience with verifying pre-certification and/or prior authorization with medical insurance preferred.
• Knowledge of patient assistance programs and grant services processes.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage, conduct prior authorizations, and determine patient financial responsibility.
• Assist patients with completing forms for assistance and grants.
• Coordinate with clinical teams and insurance providers to remove financial barriers to care.
• Monitor aging balances and arrange payment plans.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality.
