Job summary

Merck in the United States is seeking an Oncology Sales Representative to cover the Phoenix North, Arizona territory. The role focuses on educating stakeholders, addressing identified needs, and achieving sales goals within a field-based environment.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the Oncology Customer Team Leader, mastering cancer pathways and treatment options, and delivering patient-centered messaging across the product portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of sales experience.
• Minimum of high school diploma with at least 8 years of equivalent experience.
• Equivalent experience can be professional sales experience, work experience in the healthcare/scientific field with oncology experience being strongly preferred (including pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical devices) that is not sales related, professional marketing experience, or military experience.
• Valid driver’s license and able to drive a vehicle.
• Travel the amount of time the role requires, including overnight travel 10 - 15%.
• Reside in or within a reasonable distance to the district.

Responsibilities

• Attain or exceed the assigned sales goals for the geography.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand practice structure and needs, building relationships and uncovering needs.
• Communicate patient-centered rationale for oncology products in indicated uses.
• Understand cancer staging, treatment options, pathways, and guidelines impacting patients.
• Analyze trends in a complex buying environment across multiple distribution channels.
• Collaborate with local team and Oncology Customer Team Leader to develop and execute plans.
• Ask insightful questions to understand customer priorities and needs for engaging conversations.
• Ensure a consistent customer experience across divisions and coordinate with the Customer Team Leader and other roles.
