Job summary

Phaxis in New York is seeking an onboarding coordinator to oversee new hire setup, background checks, and orientation processes. You will work with IT, Credentialing, and HR teams to ensure timely access to resources and a smooth NHO (New Hire Orientation).

The role requires 2+ years in onboarding or HR operations, strong communication, and proficiency with common HRIS and ATS platforms, as you guide new hires through the pre-employment steps and first days.

Qualifications

• Two years of similar or relevant experience in a mid-sized organization (250+ employees).
• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to balance shifting priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Familiarity with HRIS and ATS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Commence onboarding process by creating and sending offer letter and welcome email.
• Coordinate background checks, employment physicals, and credentialing for new hires.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to set up resources and orientations.
• Track and maintain onboarding schedules and room bookings.
• Ensure HRIS and ATS entries are updated with training and status changes.
• Escalate onboarding issues to Senior Director, Human Resources when needed.
• Ensure onboarding materials and presentations are prepared and updated.
• Assist during New Hire Orientation week (NHO) to support new hires.
