Job summary

Compu Dynamics is looking for an Onboarding Specialist in Chantilly, VA. You will own the onboarding experience from offer acceptance through the first 60 days, acting as the single point of contact for new hires and coordinating with HR, IT, and hiring managers to ensure a smooth start.

Responsibilities include pre-onboarding communications, equipment/IT setup, travel coordination, and managing ramp plans with 30-, 45-, and 60-day touchpoints, plus post-start check-ins to support probation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in onboarding, HR or recruiting coordination, or operations coordination.
• Highly organized, with a track record of managing many moving pieces against firm deadlines.
• Clear, warm, professional communication with new hires, managers, and internal teams.
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office and with tracking work in shared systems.
• Handles confidential employee information with discretion.
• Experience with Paylocity and Greenhouse preferred.
• Experience onboarding a field, construction, or multi-site workforce preferred.
• Experience coordinating IT and equipment setup for new employees preferred.

Responsibilities

• Owns day-to-day onboarding execution from offer acceptance through Day 1 and through ramp plans.
• Schedules first week, aligning the orientation with role-specific items from the hiring manager.
• Coordinates travel and logistics for new hires starting away from HQ or traveling for orientation.
• Requests equipment, vehicles, and IT access and confirms readiness before Day 1; follows up until tickets are complete.
• Follows up with compliance items (Paylocity setup, I-9, benefits enrollment, policy acknowledgments).
• Delivers a first-60-days experience aligned to the 60-day probationary period and new hire check-ins.
