Job summary

Hornblower Group in the United States operates vessels delivering dining and sightseeing experiences. We seek a server who is technically competent in serving food and beverages, hospitable to guests and coworkers, safety-minded, and knowledgeable about the vessel and skyline.

You will greet guests, take orders and enter them into the TOAST POS, maintain cleanliness, assist with seating, collect payments, and share information on menus, cruise routes and points of interest.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year of experience in a high-volume restaurant is preferred.
• Strong customer service, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work for extended periods without sitting.
• Proficient with basic computer skills including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers as prescribed in our service systems, RESPECT.
• Greet guests and serve food and beverages in a timely fashion.
• Accurately take orders and enter them into the point-of-sale system (TOAST).
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of all common areas and service stations.
• Participate in the celebration and entertainment experience of the guest.
• Set up and break down dining room and service stations as prescribed.
• Accurately collect payment from guests for on-board purchases.
• Provide information to guests including menu descriptions, order of service, entertainment options, cruise route and points of interest.
• Be prepared to begin work at the scheduled time.
• Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards.
• Assist with the warm and efficient greeting and seating of guests when they arrive.
• Additional job duties as assigned.
