Job summary

Hornblower Group, a global leader in experience and transportation, seeks a Host to assist the Restaurant Manager onboard vessels. You will support day-to-day front-of-house activities to ensure high-quality service and guest satisfaction.

The role emphasizes safety, guest engagement, and efficient deck operations, with duties including greeting guests, seating, and coordinating service on multiple decks. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous restaurant experience preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift items.
• Strong customer service, organization and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers.
• Maintain a safe work environment aboard the vessel, focusing on guest and crew safety.
• Participate in manager pre-cruise briefings and meetings.
• Oversee deck setup, packaging, seating, and side work assignments.
• Assist with warm greeting and seating of guests on arrival.
• Coordinate buffets and invitations on assigned decks; assist servers and service staff.
• Maintain knowledge of F&B menu items, packages, and POS systems.
• Touch base with groups and leaders; lead post-cruise clean-up tasks.
• Perform vessel walk-throughs with managers to ensure deck arrangement and sanitation.
• Address issues post-cruise and propose fixes; perform other duties as assigned.
