Job summary

Hornblower Group is seeking a Server Assistant to support servers in delivering prompt food and beverage service on our vessels. You will be hospitable, safety-conscious and knowledgeable about ship operations and skyline features.

The role requires strong guest interaction, ability to lift heavy items, and a willingness to work nights, weekends, and major holidays. Prior restaurant experience is preferred and a high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet minimum state age requirements.
• Previous restaurant experience preferred.
• Stand for extended periods without sitting.
• Ability to lift furniture and other heavy items.
• Strong customer service, organization and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain a high level of organization and meet deadlines.
• Handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and guests.
• Maintain uniform and personal grooming per appearance standards.
• Availability for nights, weekends and major holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional hospitality to guests
• Clean up dishes and glassware from guests’ tables to galley
• Scrape and stack dirty dishes and carry tableware to galley for cleaning
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of all common areas and service stations
• Set up and break down dining room and service stations as prescribed
• Provide information to guests including menu, entertainment options, cruise route and points of interest
• Assist with greeting and seating of guests
• Additional duties as assigned
