Job summary

Hornblower Corp seeks a Front-of-House team member to assist the Restaurant Manager on duty with day-to-day operations aboard a passenger vessel. You will help ensure high levels of quality, service and guest satisfaction while maintaining safety for guests and crew.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, seating, coordinating buffets, and supporting servers, with emphasis on hospitality, teamwork, and efficient service during cruises.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous restaurant experience preferred.
• Will work for extended periods without sitting.
• Required to lift furniture and other heavy items.
• Strong customer service, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain a high level of organization, detailed oriented and meet deadlines.
• Handle multiple tasks/projects at one time.
• Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to coworkers and guests.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers.
• Create and maintain a safe work environment aboard the vessel, focusing on guest and staff safety.
• Attend manager pre-cruise meetings and participate in operations planning.
• Oversee deck setup, packages, and side work assignments.
• Assist with greeting and seating guests as they arrive.
• Coordinate buffets and table invitations; assist servers.
• Know F&B menu items, packages, and POS usage.
• Conduct deck touches with individuals and meet group leaders.
• Lead post-cruise cleanup and assign duties for side work.
• Perform vessel-specific safety and sanitation walk-throughs with managers.
